North Carolina's geographic location and increased economic growth and changes in recent years has led to several large scale ecological disturbances in NC. Here is data for four types of disturbances to the North Carolina coastal ecosystem within the past 10 years. One is a naturally occuring large-scale disturbance; the remaining three are initiated by human activities.
