investigations in collaboration with investigators from WIDECAST\/Duke University Marine Laboratory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extension and Outreach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Marine Animal Health group, directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/cmast.ncsu.edu\/people\/caharms\/\" data-type=\"person\" data-id=\"4337\">Dr. Craig Harms<\/a>, delivers veterinary care to the NC Aquariums at Roanoke Island, Pine Knoll Shores, and Fort Fisher, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center on Topsail Island, and university field laboratories such as the Pamlico Aquaculture Facility in Aurora, NC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some specific examples in NC include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Health maintenance of collections of the North Carolina Aquariums at Pine Knoll Shores, Roanoke Island, and Fort Fisher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Veterinary services for the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, Topsail Island.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of new surgical and medical treatments for captive sharks, sea turtles, and cephalopods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Veterinarian services for the CMAST Fisheries Research Laboratory and the Pamlico Aquaculture
