University of South Carolina<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As the conservation biologist for the North Carolina Aquariums Price develops, conducts and oversees research and field work that aim to protect species and habitats of high conservation need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her work reflects the commitment of North Carolina\u2019s three amazing aquariums and our educational pier to promote appreciation and conservation of the diverse natural resources of our state\u2019s ocean, estuaries, rivers, streams and other aquatic environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of Price&#8217;s current research areas include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gopher Frog Headstarting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spot A Shark Citizen Science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crystal Skipper Habitat Conservation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LIving Shorelines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animal Behavior<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As an instructor for the Semester at CMAST program, Price teaches Marine Conservation Biology every Spring. Throughout the year, she provides opportunities for students to delve into independent research programs related to these Aquarium research priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina instilled a strong connection to the ocean in Price, leading to her life-long dedication to protect coastal biodiversity. Her favorite thing about my job is the amazing animals she gets to work with \u2013 fish, turtles, frogs, birds and butterflies. She says she is especially interested in understanding the linkages and networks that shape and support healthy ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Price says the other great thing about my work is the people. &#8220;I especially enjoy teaching students about how to conduct scientific research and helping them advance their own professional goals. I enjoy getting to know my students. By working closely with them we assure fun learning outcomes that will prepare them for their own careers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the dedicated and talented Aquarium staff, Price says she&#8217;s also lucky to work collaboratively with many experts that share her passion for conservation.
