On Saturday, April 13 the NC State Center for Marine Sciences and Technology successfully hosted its 7th annual oyster roast. According to Dr. David Eggleston, director ofCMAST, nearly 180 people attended the event. Eggleston welcomed the crowd and NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson gave a brief campus update. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants enjoyed home-grown oysters from several oyster companies, including the Anchored Life Oyster Farm, Cape Hatteras Oysters, Crystal Coast Oysters, Middle Sound Oyster Company, Morris Family Shellfish Farms, and Shepard\u2019s Point Oyster Company, as well as steamed clams from Carteret Community College\u2019s aquaculture program, and barbeque served by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9960. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The No Name Drifters band from Greensboro provided entertainment.
