{"id":5931,"date":"2024-06-19T15:33:23","date_gmt":"2024-06-19T19:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmast.ncsu.edu\/?p=5931"},"modified":"2024-06-19T15:33:24","modified_gmt":"2024-06-19T19:33:24","slug":"second-study-abroad-class-a-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmast.ncsu.edu\/2024\/06\/second-study-abroad-class-a-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Study Abroad Class a Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p>Thirteen NC&#160;State undergraduate students recently completed a Study Abroad course entitled: &#8220;Ecological and Geological Processes in an Immersive Scientific\u00a0Diving Experience&#8221;. The semester-long course culminated in a 15-day study abroad experience on\u00a0the Dutch Antilles Island of Bonaire.\u00a0 Bonaire is well known\u00a0for its superb diving,\u00a0and the students were able to complete\u00a0a broad range of diving experiences from practicing scuba skills to scientific diving such as photo\u00a0quadrat surveys of corals and visual surveys of reef fish and coral disease,\u00a0to participation\u00a0in reef restoration training, to night dives. The course was led\u00a0by Drs.
