Research Summary

Her research focuses on policy evaluation and the valuation of natural resources and the environment. Recent applications include improving benefits estimation for policies designed to reduce human mortality, examining household responses to price and non-price water conservation policies, and evaluating the impact of offshore wind energy on coastal tourism markets.  She is a member of the Science Advisory Board for the US Environmental Protection Agency, the North Carolina Task Force for the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE), and recently served on the NC Legislative Research Commission Advisory Subcommittee on Offshore Energy Exploration.
