Dolphin Stranding on Atlantic Beach

An adult male bottlenose dolphin recently stranded on Atlantic Beach was reported to Dr. Vicky Thayer, North Carolina Marine Mammal Stranding director and NC Division of Marine Fisheries Conservation biologist, who responded with Dr. Craig Harms, Professor, NC State Department of Clinical Sciences/College of Veterinary Medicine at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST), and a crew of nine Semester at CMAST students.  After completing a brief evaluation on the beach, the group transported the dolphin to CMAST, where a necropsy was conducted.
