Coastal and Marine Toxicology
The Coastal and Marine Toxicology Program in the Department of Biological Sciences works to understand how toxicants in coastal and marine environments impact the organisms that reside there. This program is led by Dr. Maria Rodgers.
Ongoing Research Includes:
- Surveying PFAS chemicals across estuarary ecosystems
- Examining the health impacts of exposure to multiple stressors in coastal and marine organisms
- Understanding sea turtle immune responses under varying environmental conditions
- Creating cell lines and organoids from non-model coastal and marine species
